Kim Merritt is an abstract artist based in Northern California tucked away in the hills of Napa Valley. She says, "My work is predominantly characterized by light and a sense of movement. Each painting takes on it’s own character and depth with each stroke. I generally start with an idea and start working from there, adding layers of color and lines. I like to work in both the positive and negative space and always try to remember it’s ok to cover areas I might think are too precious. My paintings are personal expressions of my daily experiences that emerge into my work."
