Carolyn O'Neill

Australian artist Carolyn O’Neill began painting in 2003 after being inspired by a colorful mural painted by some mothers at her son's kinder. She then enquired about local art classes and went on to pursue formal art studies.

Over time Carolyn has developed her own aesthetic that is largely inspired by her obsession with midcentury modernism and the early pioneers of abstract expressionism such as Willem De Kooning, Jackson Pollock and Robert Motherwell.

Her work is a fusion of the mid century modernist aesthetic and abstract expressionism. She seeks to create work that is timeless; not influenced by trends. Her sense of colour is intuitive.
